Our Method

We thought about putting some fluffy abstract copy here that would have you think we’re some kind of fancy design studio. We hate to disappoint, but we’re not, we’re normal people that really like designing websites and learned a few things along the way.

Designing a website is more than making something look good, likewise developing a website is also more than making a website functional. We take you through our detailed process so that there are no surprises along the way and get an effective website that fits your needs and budget.

Lets start at the beginning of our web design process

First we start by meeting with you, the client, and talk about what you need and want in a website. We then ask questions designed to get to the root needs and possible issues your website may have and discuss possible solutions.

Next we take everything we learned and create a Websiteproject brief, this is all the information we gathered distilled down to it’s simplest form.

From there we’ll create a Website Project Plan, this will include dates and milestones for the website, as well as who is responsible for each portion and who they are accountable to.

Around this same time we’ll also be building a Technical Requirements Plan, what will include details like: What browsers will be supported, what technology(s) will be used, who will host the website, how is security and backups handled and so on.

We also have options of ongoing maintenance we can discuss during this initial fact finding and discovery phase.

At this point not a single line of code has been written, nor has any design work begun. Many companies will simple skip over these next important steps, but we’ve found through experience that planning ahead saves time and money.

Once we have everything we need, we’ll start building content outlines and wireframes. These serve as sort of a blueprint for your website, how many pages will it have, what will go on those pages, and what will they do?

Once these are approved by you we start putting thought into action and work on first drafts of the website design. Our normal design phase consists of 2 revisions for this website, each revision can be to a design or a completely new design.

Because we’ve already built our website wireframes or blueprints, we can start work on the backend code of the website, before the final design is complete. In the same way you can build a house without knowing what furniture you’ll put inside, or what color the walls and carpet will be.

Once the design has been signed off on, then we merge the visual design with the backend structure and code of the website, this process is usually fairly quick, but not without it’s hurdles. With any project no matter how big or small, there will be bugs and glitches, our aim is to catch and fix these in our QA and Testing phase.

Quality Assurance and Testing is another area where many other companies will skimp and cut corners. However, this process is what helps bring a level of quality to the website. We'll schedule a meeting by phone or in person and got through the website and address any bugs or inconsistencies we find.

Finally after hours of hard work and collaboration with you, together we’ll officially launch the website. We’ll give you some initial promotion, but it doesn’t have to stop there, we also can arrange SEO services and maintenance as an ongoing service.
