Shawn Himmelberger

I might as well write this in the first person, I'm writing it anyway right?
How I got here?
Good question, I've always been interested in creative things, drawing, photography, building inventions (inventions to me), tinkering in the garage, looking at a process and trying to refine it or make it easier.
Growing up in Hibbing, MN gave me plenty of time to learn something constructive, while still in Hibbing High School I was building websites for friends, and even a few businesses. More than once I cut class to work on a web project or two.
One thing lead to another and I ended up here in Minneapolis doing web design and development for Emmanuel Christian Center in Spring Lake Park (Minneapolis). I learned quite a bit about working with groups and "design by committee", this is one reason we specialize in church websites, as I have some personal insight.
Qualifications
Adjunct Professor - North Central University
Obviously I have a passion for web design, I also get excited seeing a student grasp something, the moment that light bulb turns on is like nothing else. When NCU asked me to do some adjunct faculty teaching in 2006 I jumped at the chance, it has pushed me to stay on top of my game.
Contractor (Mercenary) for hire
I've worked with many large companies as a contractor for various aspects of web development. It was face paced work with little room for error, I took what I learned there an applied it to my everyday work flow.
Webmaster - Emmanuel Christian Center
During my time at ECC I was able to try many things and had freedom to explore and make a few mistakes, all the while learning and growing.
My Family
When not working long hours here, I spend time with my lovely wife and wonderful two boys. I've been married almost 6 years in July, if being married doesn't teach someone how to communicate and resolve problems nothing will.
Final Thoughts
That's about it, I love what I do, and I'm always looking for new challenges and projects to tackle. If me and my team look up to the task contact us and lets get started!
